Sustainable Design Practices

Azzcat Design does its very best to respect our environment. Office practices include recycling, composting and reduced printing. When specifying print projects, Catherine seeks the highest Post Consumer Waste (PCW) content paper available, avoiding varnishes and foils—processes which can render paper unrecycleable. For the City of Tualatin, Azzcat Design specified 100% PCW stock for the monthly newsletter, Tualatin Today. Tualatin’s tri-annual GetOut! Guide is printed on locally milled, 70% PCW stock. Since both of these publications must be mailed to over 12,000 addresses, high PCW content makes a difference.

Community

Long a supporter of the Tigard-Tualatin community, Catherine has shared her time and expertise, including 9 years of elementary school art instruction and Master Gardener projects. In 2006, Catherine received the FTTS Volunteer of the Year Award for her continued professional services contribution (identity/print/web design) with the Foundation’s annual Garden Tour & Art Show fundraising event.

Professional Integrity

Azzcat Design promises the highest level of service. We deliver high quality, high value, orginal design products—on time and within budget. Clients receive personal attention and timely communication through the design process. We respect and appreciate our clients.

Respect

We also resepect ourselves, as well as the value of all creative professionals’ time, creative rights, and necessary skillsets. For this reason, Azzcat Design is strongly opposed to any use of or participation in:

  • crowdsourcing
  • work-for-hire and/or
  • speculative (spec) work.

Humor

That said, we like to laugh—and not take this design business too seriously! It’s about balance. Do your best work, but don’t let it become ‘precious’. Do it with a sense of humor. And never, ever forget...today’s cool newspaper ad is tomorrow’s kitty litter liner!

Balance is the key!
